what I did last weekend

may not be interesting, but neither are some of the things coming out of the photo forum, so I'd like to share...

BBQing is what I miss most about being away from home(San Francisco).

P.S. I really want one of them fancy cameras, I'm using a Canon SD780.

It's the little things you miss, being able to go to the park and have a bbq with friends, having a sidewalk to walk on, the elderly NOT acting like assholes and pushing everyone around, and especially the weather.

I just noticed, in the pic with the plates, the plate on the left is full of Black Tiger Shrimp, sorry I didn't get any pics of it before we devoured them. The sish kabobs weren't great though, anyone know how to make some good ones?

no I didn't marinade the meat, which may have been a mistake. I was thinking, since it was steak I could just salt and pepper it before grilling.

I will be using seafood or chicken for my next sish kebab attempt which I WILL be marinating as white chicken meat has almost no inherent flavor. Also, the occasional tomato is nice, but I think I overdid it with them.

first of all, looking at the meat, it looks pretty damn lean. was it dry after you bbq it? buy some steak with good marbling next time. the fat will base the meat to keep it nice and juicy.

well I lived in Oakland, next to SF. And SF can be warm during late spring, summer, and early fall.

the beef would look really yummy if it was in a carrot-potato stew ((:

I personally loove kebobs with chicken mushrooms and green peppers w tomatoes (for the juice!)
marinating is very very very important! do check out these recipes!

& the sausage alternative :) still looking fun to eat!
